More Summertime Magic
August brought more moments of summertime magic, joy, and community togetherness to Kenton and North Portland.
Kenton Street Fair
Thousands came out to enjoy the 14th annual Kenton Street Fair on Sunday, August 16th. Organized by the Kenton Business Association, the fair featured live music on two stages, 130+ vendors, and fun activities. Downtown Kenton businesses were open for business, with many offering specials. The Kenton Neighborhood Association had a great time sharing information about upcoming events (like the Kenton Roots event on September 12th) and helping with clean up at the end of the day.

Sidewalk Joy Bike Ride
On Saturday, August 22nd, bike riders participated in the resident-organized Kenton Community Bike Ride. The group gathered at Kenton Park, then set off on a “Sidewalk Joy” ride, making frequent stops to visit little free libraries, exchanges, galleries, and public art in Kenton, Portsmouth, and St Johns neighborhoods. Along the way, riders participated in the exchanges and shared cool facts about the artworks, local businesses, creators, and caretakers that bring beauty to the community.
