Free Native Plant Giveaway

  • Kenton residents receive priority.

  • Supplies are limited — reserving plants ahead of time is required.

  • Each household may request up to 3 plants (either 1 tree, 1 shrub, or up to 3 herbaceous/grass plants).

  • If you have already reserved your plants, you can make a new reservation to add a tree.

  • You MUST be able to pick your plants at the event — any plants not collected by 1pm will be donated.

Free Lead Testing

Multnomah County Health Department is providing free lead testing, plus information and resources.

Why Test for Lead
Exposure to lead can be harmful to people, especially children. Testing for lead can help you understand risks so you can better protect the health of your family.

What Can Be Tested
Soil, toys, pottery, and paint chips (limit three items per household).

Bringing Items for Testing
Make sure all items are dry. Place paint chips in a sealable container or bag.

Bringing Garden Soil for Testing
Collect 1/2 cup of soil from about six inches below the surface. Let the soil dry completely, then place it in a small, labeled ziplock bag.
