Every six years, the Multnomah Charter Review Committee recruits local residents to study the county charter and recommend changes for voter approval. Committee members shape elected offices, how legislation is passed, public improvement projects, and more.
Why this matters: Our County Charter acts as our local constitution, setting the foundation for how Multnomah County operates.
Why participate: People who serve on this committee will help set the future course of Multnomah County.
Benefits of participating: Help ensure the way our local government works is aligned with community values and needs. Committee members also receive a stipend for participating.
How to learn more: There are many ways to learn more about what the Charter Review Committee does, who is eligible to serve, what the responsibilities are, how to complete the application, and more.
